Hear more about transportation and infrastructure issues and how each plays a role in BC's economic recovery.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speakers:\n\n\n\nMinister Rob Fleming\nRob Fleming was elected to represent the riding of Victoria-Hillside in 2005 and was re-elected to represent Victoria-Swan Lake in 2009\, 2013\, 2017\, and 2019. He is the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. He served as the Official Opposition Critic for education and was the critic for the environment in the 39th Parliament (2009-2013). Previous to that he served as the critic for advanced education and tourism. In the 38th Parliament (2005-2009) he served as Chair of the Legislature's Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts Committee\, Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Education\, and Deputy Chair of the Special Committee to Appoint an Ombudsperson.\n\n\n\nPrior to his election as an MLA\, Rob served two terms as a Victoria City Councilor. He chaired the city's finance committee and represented Victoria at the Capital Regional District\, the Victoria Regional Transit Commission\, the Capital Region Housing Corporation\, and Tourism Victoria.\n\n \nMinister Bowinn Ma\n\n\n\nServing as the MLA for North Vancouver-Lonsdale since May 2017\, Bowinn is the Minister of State for Infrastructure. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer and certified Project Management Professional. As an MLA\, Bowinn is particularly active on the issues of housing\, transportation\, child care\, and climate action.\n\n\n\nBowinn's degree in civil engineering included a background in transportation engineering that serves her well in her efforts to improve transportation on the North Shore and throughout the Lower Mainland. In 2018\, Bowinn launched and then led the Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project (INSTPP)\, which led to the region's first-ever rapid transit feasibility study and continues to guide regional transportation planning for all levels of government on the North Shore.\n\n\n\nBowinn also serves as the Parliamentary Secretary for TransLink and on several cabinets and parliamentary committees including Treasury Board\, Housing Working Group\, Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts\, and Select Standing Committee on Crown Corporations. Prior to being elected MLA\, she managed the terminal expansion and redevelopment projects at the Vancouver International Airport.
