On June 9\, the Surrey Board of Trade will host Mayor Brad West\, Chair of TransLink's Mayors' Council and Mayor of Port Coquitlam\, and Mayor George Harvie\, Metro Vancouver Board Chair and Mayor of Delta to discuss the economic future of Metro Vancouver and how the two agencies work together to create cohesive plans for transportation and land use. In 2022\, Brad was the first Mayor in Port Coquitlam to be acclaimed to another term in office. Prior to his time as Mayor\, Brad served three terms as a City Councillor. He is widely recognized for his strong\, common-sense leadership\, his focus on what matters to Port Coquitlam families\, and his ability to get things done.\n\n \n \n\nGeorge Harvie\n\nMayor of Delta\n\nChair\, Metro Vancouver\n\n\n\nGeorge V. Harvie was first elected Mayor of the City of Delta in 2018 and is currently serving his first term as Chair of the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors. Mayor Harvie\, a long-time resident of South Delta\, was appointed Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Delta in 2001. Before this appointment\, he was employed with the City of Burnaby where he served over 30 years in a number of positions including Deputy City Manager\, Director of Human Resources\, and Manager of the Environmental Health Department.
