DESCRIPTION:This panel & networking event is designed to connect international (primarily South Asian American) filmmakers visiting Surrey for the ISAFF festival who are interested in producing their films in Surrey with practical information and resources on moving forward\, and for local filmmakers and service providers to update their understanding of the local production landscape while meeting international filmmakers as potential collaborators.\n\n\n\nPanel on Creating in Canada:\n\nA pragmatic panel giving an overview of opportunities that make filmmaking in BC so attractive\, with an eye towards practical solutions and next steps for attendees to take to move their projects forward\, and for international and local guests to envision great working relationships with each other.\n\n\n\n	Amanda Verhagen (Notable Studios): Service producer with extensive local service production experience for American producers.\n	Nessa Aref (Head of Production\, Lumostage): Lumostage is a virtual production facility enabling scale and flexibility to filmmakers using LED Volumes\n	Bim Narine: Casting director providing insights into local acting talent\n	James Monk: Surrey Film Office\, speaking about locations and permitting available here in Surrey\n	Irina Race\, Relationship Manager\, RBC: Speaking about bridge financing and opportunities to collaborate to manage cashflow and project completion.\n\nModerator:\n\nKashif Pasta: Moderating the panel to bring the audience's perspective in\, clarify questions and additionally provide a post-production perspective.\n\n\nPost-Panel Mixer\n\nAfter the panel\, attendees will be welcome to stay to speak with panelists or each other.
